  1. 1Day 1 Salerno

    Meeting at Salerno. Free lunch. Arrival and transfer by private coach to Castrovillari for a guided tour of this important town in the heart of the Pollino National Park. The old part, known as “Civita,” is characterized by small alleys and very distinctive buildings. Here, the imposing Aragonese Castle, a complex dating back to the late 15th century, and the Franciscan Protoconvent, founded in 1220 by Pietro Cathin, a disciple of Saint Francis of Assisi, stand out, along with interesting noble palaces. Accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

  2. 2Day 2 Altomonte / Cosenza

    Meals included: breakfast, dinner

    Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Altomonte, one of “The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy,” a club that selects small Italian towns outside the major tourist flows but of particular artistic and cultural interest. A stroll through the historic center leads to the panoramic square where the Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione, one of the most interesting examples of Angevin architecture in the region, is located. Free lunch. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Civita, an Arbëreshë village founded by a group of Albanian exiles who fled the Ottoman invasion in the 1500s and still preserve their dual language. Its historic center is notable for the famous “Kodra” houses, whose facades resemble human faces, and the typical chimneys. A walk to the viewpoint offers a view of the Raganello Gorges. Transfer to Cosenza. Accommodation at Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

  3. 3Day 3 Cosenza / Crotone

    Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of the historic center of Cosenza, with a stroll along Corso Telesio, the main artery of the old town, featuring the UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral and Piazza XV Marzo, which is home to the Palazzo della Provincia, the Villa Comunale enriched by centuries-old trees, and the Rendano Theatre, named after the Calabrian musician. Option to visit the Museum of the Bretti and the Enotri, which tells the history of these two ancient populations and the city. Continue with a visit to the modern part of the city, the MAB (Bilotti Open-Air Museum), which houses fine sculptures by famous artists such as De Chirico, Dalí, and Manzù. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit San Giovanni in Fiore for a guided tour of this important town in the Sila National Park. In the historic center stands the marvelous Florense Abbey, considered one of the most important religious buildings in the province of Cosenza. It was founded by the Cistercian monk Joachim of Fiore, an exegete and central figure of medieval prophecy. Transfer to Hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

  4. 4Day 4 Crotone / Siderno

    Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Le Castella, overlooking the Ionian Sea in the Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area. Visit the ruins of the Aragonese Fortress-Castle, situated in a fascinating position on an islet connected to the coast by a narrow strip of land. (The Archaeological Area of Capo Colonna is closed on Mondays). Free lunch. Continue with a guided tour of the Cattolica of Stilo, a small jewel of Byzantine architecture offering a beautiful view over the Stilaro Valley. Transfer to Siderno. Accommodation at Hotel in Siderno. Dinner and overnight stay.

  5. 5Day 5 Siderno / Reggio Calabria

    Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Gerace, a highly important city of art known as a “monumental historic center,” rich in characteristic alleys, a castle, numerous churches and noble palaces, and the largest cathedral in Calabria with its Diocesan Museum. Free lunch. Continue with a visit to Scilla, with its picturesque fishermen’s quarter called “Chianalea.” Guided tour of Reggio Calabria, including the Riace Bronzes housed in the National Archaeological Museum (entrance fee included), the Cathedral, and a stroll along the seafront, known as “the most beautiful kilometer in Italy,” offering views of nearby Sicily. Accommodation at Hotel in Reggio Calabria. Dinner and overnight stay.

  6. 6Day 6 Reggio Calabria / Mileto / Tropea / Vibo Valentia

    Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Marian Sanctuary desired by Natuzza Evolo, “Mamma Natuzza,” in Paravati, a small town in the province of Vibo Valentia. It is a permanent pilgrimage destination for thousands of faithful and devotees. Free lunch. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Tropea, one of the most picturesque and famous places in Calabria, with a historic center rich in 17th and 18th-century urban structures, characterized by narrow streets, charming views, and unforgettable sea vistas. Transfer to hotel in Vibo Valentia. Accommodation, dinner, and overnight stay.

  7. 7Day 7 Isole Eolie

    Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner

    Breakfast at the hotel. Morning guided tour of the historic center of Vibo Valentia, dominated by the imposing Norman-Swabian castle, now home to the archaeological museum named after Vito Capialbi, a distinguished scholar from Vibo. The cathedral, built at the end of the 17th century on the remains of a Byzantine church, is also noteworthy. Inside, it houses an important altar with the statue of the Madonna della Neve. Packed lunch provided by the hotel. Transfer to the port of Vibo Valentia and departure by motorboat for a mini-cruise to the Aeolian Islands – Stromboli by Night itinerary with dinner at a restaurant and a stop on the island for about 3 hours, then departing to admire the Sciara del Fuoco. Return to the port of Vibo Valentia at late evening

    Morning guided tour of Vibo Valentia. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon guided tour of Pizzo Calabro, where a stop at Piazza della Repubblica will allow you to savor the famous “Tartufo di Pizzo” ice cream while enjoying the view of the stern castle, famous for the tragic death of Joachim Murat. Also visit the small church of Madonna di Piedigrotta, inside a cave on the beach where the statues have been carved directly from the rocks). Return to the hotel. (Dinner if the mini-cruise cannot be taken). Overnight stay.

    Breakfast. Early morning departure for Salerno. Arrival and free lunch in Salerno. In the afternoon, visit to the Cathedral where Saint Matthew is buried.
