  1. 1Day 1 Verona / Trento / Strada del Vino / Caldaro / Bolzano

    Meals included: dinner

Departure from Verona. Meet your tour leader and head towards Trentino Alto Adige. The first stop is Trento, the capital of the Autonomous Province of Trento. On the guided tour, you’ll see the Cathedral of San Vigilio with its Neptune Fountain, the exterior of Buonconsiglio Castle, the Civic Tower, and Palazzo Pretorio. Enjoy lunch on your own, then continue the journey along the Wine Road, a 42-kilometer stretch of pure nature, passing through charming villages, vineyards, and wineries. The wine culture in Alto Adige is one of the oldest in Europe; from the 18th century, several Bavarian monasteries acquired wine estates in the area and developed this tradition, which flourished under Austro-Hungarian rule. Stop in Caldaro, a highlight of Alto Adige’s winemaking, and visit a winery for a tasting of local wines. Check-in at a hotel in the Bolzano/Bressanone area. Dinner and overnight stay.

  2. 2Day 2 Merano / Lago di Resia

    Meals included: breakfast, dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart for Merano, a famous spa town in South Tyrol. Explore the city center, which has a distinctly Central European feel, and visit the stunning Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, home to botanical species from around the globe. In 1870, Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria underwent spa treatments in Merano, staying at this castle. Her visit brought fame to Merano as a spa and health resort. Enjoy the castle’s gardens, a magnificent botanical garden. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, head to Lake Resia, the largest artificial lake in the Alps. In 1950, 150 families from Curon had to leave their homes due to the construction of a large dam. Today, the bell tower of Curon’s church, rising from the water, is the symbol of Val Venosta. Return to Bolzano for dinner and an overnight stay.

Lunch is on your own. In the afternoon, we’ll head to Bressanone for a guided stroll through the town center.
