2Day 2 Milano

Meeting with the guide, getting on the coach and a whole day dedicated to visiting the Lombardy capital, known as the economic center of Italy. External view of the Sforzesco Castle, via Manzoni, La Scala theatre, the Gallery, Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza Duomo with its magnificent Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente. It is the largest church in Italy, as the largest St. Peter’s Basilica is in the territory of the Vatican City, the third in the world in terms of surface area, the sixth in terms of volume. Visit to the Basilica of S. Ambrogio, one of the oldest churches in Milan. It is located in Piazza Sant’Ambrogio and represents not only a monument of the early Christian and Romanesque era, but also a fundamental point in the history of Milan and the Ambrosian Church. It is traditionally considered the second most important church in the city after the Milan Cathedral. Meeting with an Ambrosian Bishop or with one’s compatriots who have moved to Milan. Possibility of celebrating Holy Mass in a significant church in the Milan area. Going back to the hotel.

3Day 3 Milano / Chiaravalle / Milano

The Holy Year includes, among the rites to be carried out, a journey by foot that prepares the faithful for entry into Rome. For this occasion in Milan two Sacred Ways will be highlighted. “the short way” and “MilanoIncima”. The first route crosses the historic center, with stops in the oldest churches in the city, while the second crosses three city parks. Possibility to make one of your choice. In the afternoon departure to visit the Abbey of Chiaravalle, founded by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux in 1135, one of the most important Italian monastic complexes, located in Milan within the Southern Agricultural Park. Still populated today by the traditional Cistercian monastic community, it is a place of considerable spiritual value and a center of importance from a historical, artistic and cultural point of view. The complex represents a tourist destination of the highest quality, organized according to the principles of the Rule of San Benedetto da Norcia. During the day there is the possibility of celebrating Holy Mass. Going back to the hotel.

4Day 4 Milano / Caravaggio /Sotto il Monte / Milano

Departure by coach and entire day dedicated to a guided visit to the Sanctuary of S. Maria del Fonte near Caravaggio, a monumental building located in the western Bergamo plain. Despite being in the province of Bergamo, Caravaggio is part of the diocese of Cremona. The origin of the current Sanctuary is due to the apparition of the Virgin to a young peasant from Caravaggio, Giannetta de’ Vacchi, who on 26 May 1432 went to the Mazzolengo meadow to mow the grass for the animals. According to tradition, Giannetta was the wife of Francesco Varoli, a violent man who often mistreated her. At 5.00 pm that evening the Virgin appeared to her and not only had words of peace and consolation for her, but, above all, she instructed her to bring a message of penance for her fellow villagers and an invitation to built a church on the place where appeared. Continuation to Sotto il Monte, still in the Bergamo area, birthplace of Pope John XXIII. Visit places. Possibility to celebrate Holy Mass. In the evening return to the hotel.

5Day 5 Milano / Roma

Transfer by coach to Milan Central railway station. Accommodation in reserved 2nd class and departure by high-speed train for Rome. Arrival, accommodation on the coach, meeting with the guide and panoramic tour of the capital, the eternal city. At the end, transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in reserved rooms

6Day 6 / Day 7 Roma
Meals included: breakfast, dinner
Meeting with the guide, taking the coach and entire days dedicated to a guided visit to Rome, the cradle of Christianity, historical base of the Roman Empire and political center of Italy; of the basilica of S. Pietro papal seat, of S. Giovanni in Laterano, of S. Maria Maggiore and of S. Paolo futuro le mure. Walking along Via della Conciliazione, you can see Castel S. Angelo with the bridge of the same name. Also visit on foot the worldly Rome with Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna, the Altare della Patria and the Trevi Fountain. Possibility to celebrate Holy Mass.
