The chapel was built in the place where Padre Pio loved to gather in prayer in a straw hut. In the sacred place, the elm tree where he received the first stigmata is preserved. Not far from the chapel there is a well that was dug in the place that Padre Pio indicated to his father, irritated because he could not find a point with the presence of water. In the afternoon panoramic tour of Benevento called by the ancient Romans first Maleventum and then Beneventum. The city boasts a conspicuous historical-artistic and archaeological heritage, the result of the various dominations and affiliations that have occurred throughout its history. Since June 2011, the church of Santa Sofia, built in 760 by the Lombard duke Arechi II, has become part of the UNESCO world heritage site.  The symbol of the city is the Arch of Trajan, which appears to be one of the Roman triumphal arches with the best preserved reliefs. Also of interest are the Rocca dei rectori, the Cathedral and the church of S. Ilario, a monumental complex of Lombard origin, built around the 6th – 7th century on the ruins of a previous building. The name of the complex, in the past used as a church, derives from the proximity to the Arch of Trajan, which in the Middle Ages, inserted in the city walls, took the name of Porta Aurea. A convent was then added to the church building, of which some remains are visible; noteworthy are the cisterns and wells for collecting water. Possibility to celebrate Holy Mass. Return to Naples.
